Intimacy with God makes you a friend of God. You intertwine with God the more you commune with Him. Friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God, whilst believing in God makes you His friend.
James 2:23 says, “…Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God.” God found it hard to hide anything from Abraham because he was His friend. Righteousness—right standing with God—was imputed such that Abraham could stand in God’s presence and instruct Him.
It is the glory of God to conceal things, but to Abraham He revealed deep and hidden things. The information no longer belonged to God alone but to Abraham also. Friendship with God gives you an advantage over the enemy, because God reveals in order to redeem.
