Jesus gave us the power of attorney to use His Name, which means when we pray, we’re standing in His place and making requests to our Father. Notice how he says that you ask THE FATHER, IN HIS NAME and HE (The Father) is the one who does the giving – not Jesus, but the Father!
As a Christian in this dispensation, you are to live in the Name of Jesus; function in His place, with His authority, and His character. This is the greatest treasure prophets and patriarchs of old only saw glimpses of in the realm of the Spirit. Take advantage of this Name as a new testament Christian.
When you pray, it carries the same power and authority as though Jesus Himself were the one praying. It's a legal thing; He gave us power of attorney to use His Name and live in His Name.
