Christianity centres on a relationship with God, not distance. God desires closeness, seeking friendship. Being God’s friend means receiving His trust, thoughts, and plans, and gaining access to divine secrets and guidance.
Abraham, known as the friend of God, had a special relationship with Him. God shared His plans openly with Abraham and entrusted him with great responsibility. Their friendship was founded on faith and obedience. Because Abraham had complete trust in God, He revealed things to him that others could not see. Friendship with God always begins with trust.
It’s easy to see God as distant, but He wants to walk with you daily, talk with you, guide you, and laugh with you. Prayer and the Word bring you closer. Friendship with God changes your life, decisions, and view of yourself. You’re not just saved; you’re chosen for friendship.
