When the angel called Gideon a “mighty man of valour,” Gideon struggled to believe it. His reality did not match the words spoken over him. Many young people feel the same way today. You may wonder, if God is with me, why am I struggling? Why did I lose that opportunity? Why does my situation feel stuck?
Though you may feel that way, it does not cancel how God sees you. Gideon was met by God in a low and hidden place, the threshing floor, during a season of national trouble. Yet God spoke strength and purpose into him before Gideon ever saw change. God’s view of you is higher than your current circumstances.
