It is important to note that Christian meditation differs from Eastern or other form of meditation. Christian meditation is about filling the mind and mouth with the Word of God. ‘Meditate’ in Greek is meletao which means to revolve in the mind, or devise, or to plot.
Rest on God’s unchangeable Word. Read His Word, meditate on His sayings, and then say those words to yourself until you are possessed with God’s Word for your situation.
In Joshua 1:8 ‘meditate’ is rendered from the Hebrew Hagah, which means to ponder, imagine, or mutter by talking quietly to yourself. Another meaning of hagah is to roar. Teens when you see fear you sit down in your chair and plot, and when you finish plotting, let the real Lion rise up in you and Roarrrr!
