And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
This story raises a striking question: Why would the Creator of the universe curse a tree for not bearing fruit when He knew it was not in season? The reason is simple! The answer lies in what the tree represented. The capacity of all creation is not measured by the world’s natural lens, but by what God has spoken concerning it.
When Jesus spoke, He addressed the fig tree by its God-given capacity, not its season. Do not let what you see with your natural eyes limit where God wants to take you. God’s Word establishes your capacity. Regardless of your background, occupation, or circumstances, you are producing fruit because the Lord Jesus said so.
