Addicted people have patterns. They arrange their day around what they crave. They think about it, plan for it, pursue it, and sacrifice for it. Jesus used this same picture when He said seek first the Kingdom. “Seek” (epizēteō) means to search for or crave with priority; it’s an intensity that refuses to be denied.
Imagine if your search for God carried that level of focus. If someone examined your habits, how you think, plan, and spend your time, would they conclude you are “addicted” to the things of God?
When what God wants becomes your priority, what you need is added without struggle or wearing yourself out. Abandon the hustle culture. Give yourself fully to His agenda. This is the only addiction God will sponsor.
