The Bible tells us to guard our hearts—but what does that really mean? Think of your heart as the control center of your life. Everything you think, say, and do flows from it. When you gave your life to Jesus, God filled your heart with His love and power. Guarding your heart means protecting that love from anything that tries to pull you away from Him.
In Scripture, people like David and Solomon started strong but faced trouble when they let pride, jealousy, or distraction sneak in. The same can happen to us when we let negativity, gossip, or comparison take over. Those things poison our hearts and block us from hearing God clearly.
Instead, fill your heart with God’s Word and surround yourself with things that build your faith—good friends, worship, prayer, and truth. When you do, you’ll see God’s goodness overflow into every part of your life!
